I played the Spriggs ligature from about 1999 until 2001, when I acquired my first Kaspar ligature. The Spriggs is a great desgn and always gave a nice core and vibrancy to the tone. I no longer play clarinet having lost the use of my left hand ten years ago after a near-fatal hemorrhagic stroke. I kept the Spriggs around though until a friend’s student was looking to upgrade. The only downside is that it always felt a bit fragile. Not a ligature that you can easily swap mouthpieces in an orchestral setting. But it was easy to slip off, and back on quickly once you got the mouthpieces swapped. I recall the screw being threaded such that it dib;t take a massive amount of twisting to get it lose and re-tightened.
