I have started receiving emails inquiring where the Clarineat Podcast has gone, which is a fair question since it’s been over a month since the last episode. So I think it’s time for a quick update to all.
Unfortunately, right after my trip to Chicago for Midwest (which was AMAZING) I came down with a nasty cold that led to a scratchy sore throat which prevented me from recording any new content. “Not a big deal,” I figured, “I’ll just finish up Season 1 in the New Year.”
Well, not so fast! Shortly after the new year began, I unfortunately suffered a serious and debilitating hand injury. I slipped and fell down the stairs and the glass of water I was carrying exploded and lacerated my hand (See the offending glass is in the following picture. My hand itself is not a pretty sight… I’ll save your eyes!).
Needless to say, all of my activities are severely limited for the time being while I try to recover. Playing the clarinet is out of the question, and Audio editing is particularly difficult and tedious since many functions require the use of the mouse, trackpad, and two-handed commands.
I would like to add have been very thankful for Apple’s amazing built-in dictation software, which has allowed me to continue writing emails and even blogging to an extent. I can’t imagine how this technology has positively affected the lives of permanently-disabled people, and I commend Apple for their efforts in this area.
Many people on Facebook and other outlets have been reaching out asking if there is anything they can do to help, which is incredibly generous.
To be completely honest, this may be a very difficult month or two (or more, depending on recovery) especially given the fact that I am entirely self-employed. Outside of everyday living expenses, the podcast and website costs hundreds of dollars per month to operate and maintain at its current level.
If you do feel so inclined to offer support (and please don’t feel obligated) please know that it will be graciously accepted and appreciated (even just sharing the podcast with a friend or leaving a review on iTunes is a huge help).

Thank you so much for your patience, support and understanding. I hope to make a full recovery soon.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the remaining episodes from Season 1, and the start of season 2 in the coming weeks. I will begin posting this content as soon as I’m physically able to do so.
In closing, please do be very careful on the stairs! It’s amazing how much damage can be done in such a short time.
Happy new year and best wishes,
